Overview
This article explains how instructors can save discussion threads and replies from D2L Brightspace for offline reference or recordkeeping. Currently, D2L Brightspace does not offer a bulk export or download feature for discussion threads and replies.
As a result, discussion content must be saved manually by copying and pasting it into a document stored outside of D2L Brightspace.
How-To
NOTE: There is not currently a bulk export or download feature for threads and replies in D2L Brightspace Discussions.
To save your students’ Discussions threads and replies outside of D2L Brightspace:
- From the course homepage, Click the Communication menu.
- Click Discussions from the menu.
- Click the title of the Discussions Topic you wish to save.
- Copy and paste threads and replies into a Microsoft Word or other text document you wish to save.
- Save the text file to your choice of locations or folders on your device or OneDrive.
Outcome
After completing these steps, the selected discussion threads and replies will be saved in a document outside of D2L Brightspace for future access.
