Cleaning Up System Files

Overview

 This article is for anyone who needs to remove old system files from a Windows device. It gives step by step instructions for using the Disk Cleanup tool.

How-To

  1. In Windows Search Menu, search for and open Disk Cleanup.
  2. Select Clean up system files. The program will restart.
  3. Click on the More Options tab.
  4. Under System Restore and Shadow Copies, click Clean up...

  5. Click Delete.

Outcome

The old system files will be removed.
