Question
How do I link videos from LinkedIn Learning into D2L?
Overview
We strongly recommend that you add language in your syllabus or D2L course that directs students to create their LinkedIn Learning account using this link https://lnkd.in/edEvMpD prior to accessing the videos. This will ensure a seamless experience.
- Login to your LinkedIn Learning account
- Click the Go to Admin link in the upper right-hand corner
- If you do not see this option, please send an email to itsolutionscenter@mnsu.edu and request to be made a LinkedIn Learning Subadmin
- Search for the video or course you want to place into D2L
- Click on the more button in the bottom right corner of the video box. Click the Get SSO URL link
5. In your D2L Course, add the video URL in the appropriate section by either using the Insert Quicklink function or by using Upload/Create > Create a Link
6. In the new link box, paste the video URL into the URL* text field. Give the video a Title
7. Click the Create or Save and Close button
Another option is to add characters to your existing LinkedIn Learning video links to direct students to our university portal. Without this, students are unable to log in to the generic linkedinlearnig.com, which is where the videos direct them.
- Add the following string of characters to the end of the video url: ?u=57684185&auth=true.
Your video link should look like
https://www.linkedin.com/learning/leadership-foundations-4/understanding-effective-leadership?u=57684185&auth=true
Note: if you already see the characters "?u=57684185" at the end of the video, you only need to add these characters &auth=true
2. Click the Create or Save and Close button
