D2L Brightspace: Randomize Quiz Questions Using Question Pools

How do I add random questions in my D2L Brightspace course quizzes? How can I give each student a unique, randomized quiz?

Overview

Use a Question Pool to provide each student with a unique, randomized set of questions on a quiz. NOTE: You must create or upload questions into your Question Library first to use Question Pools.

To add a Question Pool to a D2L Brightspace quiz:

1. Edit the Quiz.
2. Scroll down to the Questions panel.
3. Click the Create New button.
4. Select Question Pool from the drop-down menu.

Next, create your new question pool:

1. Enter a Question Pool Title.
2. Click Browse Question Library
   • Check the box next to the questions you want to include in the random Question Pool.
   • Click Add.
3. Enter the number of randomly selected questions you want each student to receive in the Number of Questions to Select text box
4. Enter the number of points you want each question to be worth in the Points per Question text box
5. Click Save.
6. You will now see a Question Pool in your quiz.
7. Click Save and Close.
