Replying to Discussion Thread in D2L Brightspace

Overview

This article shows students how to **post and reply to discussion threads in D2L Brightspace**. It is designed to help learners actively participate in class discussions, ask questions, share ideas, and respond to classmates.

How-To

To post and reply to a Discussions thread in D2L Brightspace, watch this tutorial video on how to engage in D2L Brightspace Discussions as a learner/student or follow the steps:

  1. Login to D2L Brightspace with your Star ID credentials.
  2. Click on the course in which you'd like to access.
  3. Click on Communication and then Discussions.

  1. From the Discussions List, click on the Topic you'd like to reply to
  2. To post, click the Start a New Thread button, enter a subject and content, then click the Post button.

Click the discussion topic title link to post and reply

  1. To reply, click the title of the thread you want to reply to.

  1. Click the Reply to Thread button.
  2. Edit the title and enter your reply.
  3. Click Post.

Outcome

The user will be able to 'successfully post and reply to discussion threads', view responses from classmates, and actively participate in course discussions in D2L Brightspace.
