Adding Personal Pronouns in D2L Brightspace

Overview

This article explains how to add and display personal pronouns in D2L Brightspace. It is intended for students and instructors who want their pronouns visible within the learning environment.

How-To

Add your pronouns to D2L Brightspace:

  1. Click your Profile Image or Name in the upper right corner. 
  2. Click Account Settings from the Personal Menu.
  3. Check the box next to Allow others to see my pronouns. 
  4. Select Use different pronouns. 
  5. Enter your personal pronouns in the text box. 
  6. Click Save and Close.

Where do pronouns display?

Instructors will see pronouns in:

  • Classlist
  • Discussions Topic Profile card
  • Assignment Evaluation Profile card
  • Discussions Evaluation Profile card

Students will see pronouns in:

Outcome

The user will be able to see their pronouns displayed in D2L Brightspace.
