Determining your StarID

Overview

How can I look up my StarID if I don't know it or forgot it?

How-To

Your StarID is automatically created when you apply to the university or are hired as an employee.  Activate your StarID if you have not done so already.

  1. Once you have an active StarID, you can assess the StarID Self Service site https://starid.minnstate.edu 
  2. Select What is my StarID.
  3. Select the appropriate method to look up your StarID
    • I know my Tech ID (8 digit student ID)
    • I know may (personal) email address
    • I have a verification code
    • I have my MSU library card (MavCARD)
    • I know my State employee number (8 digits)

Outcome

StarID will be recovered, enabling access to university systems and services.
