Multi-Factor Authentication: Passwordless Sign-In for Microsoft 365 with Microsoft Authenticator App

Question

How do I set up passwordless sign-in on my Microsoft 365 account?

Overview

What is Passwordless Sign-In for Microsoft 365?

Passwordless sign-in allows you to use your mobile device to approve sign-ins on your Microsoft 365 account without having to enter your password. This works on many University apps that are tied to Microsoft 365 sign-in, including Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), MavMAIL, Workday, and more.

Pre-Requisite: Set Up Microsoft Authenticator App First

In order to enable passwordless sign-in, you must have the Microsoft Authenticator app downloaded on your mobile device and have your Microsoft 365 account set up to use Microsoft Authenticator as the authentication method. If you already have this completed, skip this step.
