Overview
This article is intended for Fountain users who want to gain content editing (design) access on the platform and walks through what to expect for the approval process and training requirements.
How the Approval Process Works
Access to edit or add content on The Fountain is limited to keep content consistent, clear, and relevant for users.
- Site-Level Approval: Each site can have up to two designated designers. To gain design access, you must first be approved by The Fountain staff. Submit an IT ticket to request design access.
- If you are requesting access for a department within a division or college, you must first get approval from your division’s Content Librarian.
- A list of Content Librarians can be found on The Fountain's About Page. (login required)
How Access Requests Work
Once you have received approval:
- The Content Librarian must submit a ticket on your behalf. If Fountain Staff approved your request they will submit a ticket on your behalf.
- The request must include:
- Your Full Name
- Your StarID
- The site or page you need design access to
Training Requirements
Once your request is reviewed and approved by The Fountain staff, you will be enrolled in The Fountain training within D2L Brightspace.
- You must fully complete the training.
- Notify your Content Librarian or a Fountain staff member once training is completed.
- Content Librarians must notify a Fountain Administrator, who will verify that the training has been completed successfully.
- Upon successful confirmation of the training being completed, access to your requested site/page may be granted.
Microsoft Teams Access
Once enrolled in training, you will also be added to The Fountain Microsoft Team, where you can:
- View the Handbook
- Access brand and photo assets
- Stay updated on new features and releases
- Ask questions and connect with other content librarians/editors
Access Granting & Processing Time
Once your training is verified, design access will be granted only after the division Content Librarian has a page ready and has let IT know it is ready. Please allow up to two business days for processing after access is requested.
