Creating a Free EDUCAUSE Membership Account

Overview 

This article is for faculty, staff, and students to create a free EDUCAUSE account through Minnesota State University, Mankato’s membership. It covers what EDUCAUSE is, the top resources users can find there, and step by step instructions to create an account.

What is EDUCAUSE? 

EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association dedicated to advancing higher education through information technology. EDUCAUSE provides research, insights, community, and professional learning opportunities to empower students, faculty, and staff. Gain valuable insights on topics like IT, academic technology, cybersecurity, teaching and learning, library resources, student success, and more.  

Membership

Through Minnesota State Mankato’s membership, all faculty, staff, and students have access to EDUCAUSE, including: 

  • Research, data, and benchmarking tools on higher education technology trends. 
  • Publications, toolkits, and thought leadership content. 
  • Community Groups for networking and problem solving. 
  • Professional development webinars, programs, courses, and training.
  • Information on EDUCAUSE conferences and events. 

How-To 

Set up a free EDUCAUSE account through Minnesota State University, Mankato’s membership.

  1. Navigate to the EDUCAUSE website
  2. Select Login on the top navigation bar. 
  3. Select Log in or create a profile
  4. Select Create a profile
  5. Enter your email. 
  6. Fill out the required information on the New User Creation form.  
  7. Important: In the Organization field, be sure to select Minnesota State University, Mankato in order to join MSU’s free membership. 
  8. Set a password.

Outcome 

A free EDUCAUSE membership account will be created for the user.
