Requesting a New Distribution List

Overview

This article explains how staff and faculty can request the creation of a distribution list. Distribution lists allow emails to be sent to multiple recipients using a single email address and are commonly used for departments, teams, or groups.

Requests for new distribution lists must be submitted to the IT Solutions Center and include specific required information.

How-To

To request a new Distribution List, please have a staff member submit the following information to IT Solutions Center 

  1. Select 2 or 3 names you would like, in order of preference for the Distribution List.
  2. The name and StarID of the members that need to be added to the Distribution List.
  3. If the Distribution List needs to be externally available or not.

Outcome

After completing these steps, IT Solutions Center will review the request and create the distribution list using the provided information. Members will be added once the list is created.
