Overview
This article outlines how employees can verify that their Zoom Phone is properly configured to ring by reviewing settings that can prevent incoming calls, like business hours, Do Not Disturb (DND) status, time zone, and other related settings in the Zoom web portal, physical desk phone, and computer application.
How-To
If your Zoom Phone or Yealink desk phone is not ringing when someone calls you, review the following items to identify and resolve common causes.
1. Check Business Hours in Zoom
-
Go to the Zoom Web Portal and sign in using SSO.
-
Navigate to Phone → Call Handling.
-
Confirm that your Business Hours are correctly set and that you are within those hours.
2. Verify Do Not Disturb (DND) Status
-
Ensure DND is not enabled on the physical Yealink desk phone.
-
If using the Zoom desktop app, confirm that DND is also turned off there.
3. Check for Scheduled Holidays
4. Confirm Time Zone Settings
-
In the Zoom Web Portal, go to Profile → Time Zone and ensure it’s set correctly.
-
In Outlook, navigate to File → Options → Calendar → Time Zones to verify accuracy.
-
On your local computer, check that the system time and time zone are correct, especially if using the Zoom application.
Outcome
After completing these checks, incoming calls should properly ring through your Zoom Phone or Yealink desk phone during active business hours, ensuring that calls are received as expected.
