Connecting Your Android Device to eduroam Wi-Fi

Question

How do I connect to eduroam from an android phone or tablet? 

Overview

eduroam is the preferred secure Wi-Fi network for all students, faculty and staff to use with their personally owned devices. Enroll your device to enjoy Wi-Fi access throughout this campus as well as other eduroam-participating institutions. For more information please visit our Wi-Fi Page!

To connect your Android device to eduroam, you must have an active StarID account, a data or internet connection.  

Note: Directions and screen shots may differ depending on software versions

 

Androids

 

Samsung

  1.  From your phone's web browser, navigate to wifi.mnsu.edu 
  2. Click Download to go to the Google Play Store and download SecureW2 JoinNow

  1. After the SecureW2 JoinNow app has finished installing, switch back to the webpage and continue by clicking JoinNow
  2. Sign in with your StarID login and password 
    • Students & Alumni = StarID@go.minnstate.edu
    • Current Employees = StarID@minnstate.ed 

  1. Approve sign in request or use MFA code 

  1. On the next screen, select Continue > You should see screen that says Enrolling..
  2. On the next screen, select Next > Save

  1. Tap on Go to Wi-Fi Settings to verify eduroam connected successfully 

Your Android device is now set up to use eduroam. It will work wherever you are throughout the world that an eduroam network is available if you are a current student or employee at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Changing your StarID password will not require any Wi-Fi related updates on your Android device.
