Academic Forgiveness is a one-time opportunity for undergraduate students at Minnesota State Mankato to reset their GPA by excluding certain low grades from past coursework. To qualify, students must either return after a 3-year break or change majors, and then successfully complete at least 12 credits with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and a grade of “C” or better in each course. This policy applies only to Mankato coursework and does not impact financial aid eligibility calculations.
The grade appeal process allows students to challenge a final course grade if they believe it was assigned due to error, inconsistency, or discrimination. Appeals must include a clear explanation, supporting documentation, and a proposed resolution, and must be initiated within the first 10 class days of the following semester.
