How do I change my name or email address?
Overview
Faculty and Staff:
Changes to your name and/or email address (including preferred name changes) are initiated through Human Resources.
Once your have submitted your name change request to Human Resources, your request will automatically update throughout our system once it is fully processed.
Students:
Changes to your name and/or email address are managed through the Registration and Academic Records Office.

- Preferred Name Change:
You have the option of using a preferred name (like your nickname) at the University. Your preferred name will appear in D2L Brightspace, MavMAIL, class rosters, MavCARD and other university systems. A preferred name can replace your first, middle, and/or last name. You can create or edit your preferred name through E-services:
- Log in to E-Services
- Click Account Management
- Click Name and Address Info
Once your have submitted your name change request through E-Services, your request will automatically update throughout our system once it is fully processed.
