How do I change my name or email address?

Overview

Faculty and Staff: 

Changes to your name and/or email address (including preferred name changes) are initiated through Human Resources.

Once your have submitted your name change request to Human Resources, please submit a ticket to the IT Solutions Center to process your name change. Please include your full name before and after the change in your name.

Students:

Changes to your name and/or email address are managed through the Registration and Academic Records Office.

  • Official Name Change
  • Preferred Name Change:
    You have the option of using a preferred name (like your nickname) at the University. Your preferred name will appear in D2L Brightspace, MavMAIL, class rosters, MavCARD and other university systems. A preferred name can replace your first, middle, and/or last name. You can create or edit your preferred name through E-services:
    • Log in to E-Services
    • Click Account Management
    • Click Name and Address Info

Once your have submitted your name change request through E-Services, please submit a ticket to the IT Solutions Center to process your name change. Please include your full name before and after the change in your name.
